One way I like to think about “the way, the truth and the life” is that they tell me how to live in a Christ-Like fashion. I want to live and act as Christ did, that is, “the way.” I want to follow the word of Christ, “The Truth” as my backbone. And I want to work toward a pure life that will deliver me to the ultimate reward, “the Life.” These are things I can do every day.
I also like to connect “the way, the truth and the life” with my golf background. In golf, the associated terms are, “the laws, the principles, and the preferences.” The laws are the Ball Flight laws, which are undeniable physics realities. The principles are the fundamentals and positions in the golf swing that a student must execute. And the preferences are what a golfer inherently, and maybe, unconsciously, does. I want my students to always do the right things, which will help them succeed. I want my students to eliminate bad preferences.

The laws, the principles, and the preferences are always in the background as we talk about golf's truisms and, “the way, the truth and the life” are always in the background as we talk about living a better life. I encourage you to make associations as we go along in the book.
Most golfers are not as good as they believe they should be…. they are sure that it is not their game that is at fault.
They don't comprehend the correct path to acquire proper knowledge of fundamentals and to achieve a solid golf swing.
… many people don't have the knowledge or any realization that they don't have knowledge. … or, blind intuition.
The thing is that many people follow the same kind of blind intuition when it comes to living their life.
We see how some people treat problems in life the same way many people treat problems in golf. They go down the wrong path. However, here you will find that being successful in life contains the same elements as playing golf well, with a good, productive path to follow.
Involved in this framework are the most basic elements of golf;
*the grip,
*the correct alignment, and
*a powerful posture.
These have to be correct before there is any thought of swinging a golf club the way an excellent golfer does. As you will see, they are also the same fundamental elements before a person can successfully walk in life…. a person must have the correct mindset and focus to make it work. You will need to mentally prepare to make a change onto the correct track.
"The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice". Proverbs 12:15
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6
"Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm." Proverbs 13:30
In golf, there is a correct place on the back swing where the player needs to be to hit a great shot. The club is on plane, the body is aligned correctly, and there is a coil of shoulders and hips full of potential energy; ready to expload at the ball. We call this “the position of readiness”. From there the club will be on the path to hit the ball in the sweet spot and propel the ball forward.
There can come a critical point in a person's life when they make a choice to change their path In some cases the Lord speaks to them. .
I firmly believe that the best way to do this is by accepting and embracing God as a foundation. When this happens, a person has reached the position of readiness.
This is a moment of eevelation for a person in a couple of ways; first, it is the moment when a person understands who they are and they come to grips with themselves. Second, it is the moment in which God speaks to a person, and says there is a better way of doing things. while I consider myself a Christian I was not committed to it. I never really had a relationship with God as my brothers did.
With his teaching we discuss a framework in steps to develop a successful and productive life. We talked about achieving peace and satisfaction. We talked about people who become powerful and huge because they had the support and help from God. It is an extraordinary experience. However, a person has to start somewhere it happens if there is a definite starting-point.
The humbling
In James 4 can we have humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up in Isaiah 66:2 we have there are the these are the ones I look on with favor those who are humble and contrite in spirit and who tremble at my word some people want to make a change in their lives but they fail humbling. They have not truly given themselves to God and therefore, their efforts at making a change fail. Are they truly contrite as the Lord describes?
Are you ready to commit yourself to The humbling it is a new way of life. It is a total engagement into the fabric of giving oneself to a better way of life. Humble yourself before the Lord. That is where everyone must start.
the last point I want to make and emphasizes that being humble before the Lord is the beginning. It is where you start because it opens up the possibilities. It is not the end. To get what you want to be, there is more work to be done.
An excellent grip.
How firm a foundation is laid for your face in his excellent word
The first most fundamental element in golf is to establish the correct grip on the golf club. The hands have to be placed on the golf club so that when the club is swung, the golf ball is consistently struck squarely to the Target and with efficient power. It is such that there is very little allowable variation in the grip setup that will work. You pretty much have to do it one way. Teaching students the proper grip is the first thing I do, and sometimes it takes a few sessions before the student gets it correct every time they prepare to have a shot. I never let up on my demand for grip perfection. When a student gets ready to hit a shot and one of my lessons I often ask, progrip? My students know that I'm asking if their grip is correct and they double-check themselves,
Then you need to learn the in swing moves that are necessary to account for it. Finally, you need to perform and repeat those moves so that you have consistency from one shot to the next. My experience tells me that for 99.9% of the golfers in the world it is just too hard.
so now we know that you simply have to have a solid, correct grip to play golf well. That fundamental is the beginning of everything.
life is exactly like Golf and that the correct fundamentals must be in place for a person to be successful. People need an excellent grip in their life. For me, the grip is the Word of God, the Bible. The word of God has continued to survive unchanged through centuries as scholars, religious leaders, and common, ordinary people have continued to successfully apply the principles there in. It has staying power.
The word of God is to listen to the stories of people who were able to turn their lives around by fixing their fundamentals. Once they made the word of God part of their daily life, they face their future on a solid foundation. once they accepted it. Think about where you are in your life and how the word of God can redirect it.
The important thing is that you accept the word of God as a starting point.
The Bible is your starting point and it is the most important fundamental in your life. It is the word of God, and it will continue to support you. Once you incorporate the word of God in your life than all things are possible. The other fundamental elements of alignment and posture will powerfully propel you to the greater things. However the creek is the starting point. In Joshua 1:8 we read; "keep this book of the law always on your lips. Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you'll be prosperous and successful."
The way you hold your Club, your grip is the number one principle and fundamental of golf. The answer is to commit to change and to a teacher with knowledge to set it correctly. In Proverbs 3 verse 13 it states blessed are those who find wisdom those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.
My Life script is the word of God. It is your grip as well. It is the most important fundamental in life.
Aligning Your Life
The second important fundamental in gulf is alignment. There are a number of physical alignments things that could be wrong respecting the ball Toyota specific target. However if you want to consist Linda ball to a specific place then direct alignment is a critical.
So my job is to set them on track.
one way to look at misalignment is to say that the golfer is aligned, but to the wrong target. Of course, they don't know this, but that is the reality. They think they are aiming in the right direction, but they are not. When it comes to life, many people are aligned to the wrong targets. they might even go to church or be saying the appropriate things, but their daily actions are evidence that they are going down the wrong path.
In life we tend to be aligned to acquiring worldly things that idol becomes our Target
