Golf from the heart background - Bill Poirier

Back in 1993, while finalizing a 20 year career in the US Army, LTC Bill Poirier was invited by PGA Tour Professional, Bobby Clampett, to assist him & the other PGA Tour Professional who were Christ followers to become the liaison for coordinating requests for these Players to appear at breakfasts conducted at PGA Tour locations when a Player was requested to present their faith story. For three and a half years, Bill facilitated thirty three events; serving the ministries conducting the breakfasts & the Tour Players as well. Thousands of people heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ, hundreds of people either placed their faith in Christ for the first time or were renewed in tneir faith journey. Many of the attendees were connected to their local churches.

In 2013, Bill was invited to join the planning committee developing a comprehensive evangelical outreach for the Men's and Women's USGA US Opens being conducted ar the Village Chapel in 2014. Bill penned the ministerial plan & partnered with the principles to promote, market & manage communications including; online messaging, a text messaging response program as well as a social media content management plan. This program resulted in tens of thousands of attendees to the Opens receiving the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Of particular note was the fact that most of the ministries using golf as a platform were engaged in the event at the invitation of Bill with the resultant promotion of those ministries during these historical golf events.
