(GPS) Golf Program in Schools has proven to be the premier Inclusive, In-school, Curriculum based, Free, youth golf introduction program in the nation. GPS partners with local school districts and is invited to introduce every 5th -9th grade student that participates in gym class to the lifelong benefits and valuable life lessons of golf. This removes all socio-economic barriers to learning about golf. GPS reaches every 5-9th grade student, including those who would never be afforded the opportunity to engage in such a healthy, satisfying & sport of integrity. Golf is a game of a lifetime. GPS students are instructed for FREE and enjoy FREE membership at a golf course until they turn 19. There is no other golf program for the youth of this country like GPS.The benefits to engaging in this program cannot be measured. Offering these students this membership places them in a new socio-economic environment that provides further opportunities for increased learning, increased exposure to future relationships, as well as career & scholarship consideration. There is no other golf program for the youth of this country like GPS. 1. Students benefit. We reach every student in 5th to 9th grade, plus we provide a special needs program in all schools that have special needs or unified sports classes. Every student has the opportunity to be introduced to golf and the life lessons learned from golf. They have an opportunity to go on a field trip to visit a green grass course during the program week. Each GPS graduate that fills out our post program survey receives free golf until they turn 19yrs old t the host course. Students are made aware of golf scholarships and career opportunities. 2. Families benefit. With the invitation for the students to play free golf with a paying adult, we are encouraging families to play golf together. This equates to 4 hours or more of quality family time in a social-media free, fresh air environment! GPS introduces kids to the game at an age where they can become lifelong lovers of golf.3. Communities benefit. With GPS increasing players, and thus increasing revenue at the host golf course, we intend to slow the closure of community golf courses and preserve these community environmental assets.
4. Schools Benefit. GPS provides a week of instruction, free to the schools. The students love the class, as proven by our surveys, and participation goes way up when we are there, according to the teachers. 5. Host Golf Courses benefit. We benefit the host golf course, acting as a marketing arm. Our host course the Sun City Country Club increased its revenue 51% over the last 5 years. 6. The Game of Golf and the industry benefit. GPS introduces kids to the game at an age where they can become lifelong lovers of golf. This translates to an increase in golfers supporting the courses and the industry. How GPS benefits. With more people taking up the game of golf and taking lessons, the GPS Golf Academies become economically able to sustain the free GPS program. The Academies will provide the income to pay PGA teachers and administrative staff. This will eventually eliminate the need to continuously raise grant money to provide salaries and pay overhead. Lastly: Noted in a recent article published by The National Golf Foundation stated: “The three factors in converting new golfers to regular clients are: 1- Receiving professional instruction. 2- Learning in a specialized group setting. 3- Having a Fun introductory experience.” GPS does all the above.
