What is Godly success??
In Joshua 1:8, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." - Joshua 1:8

Question: God promises that Joshua would have “success and prosperity.” Don’t you like the sound of that? How is God’s view different from our view or the world’s view of success?

1. Complete these sentences: “I will know I am successful when I… ”

Question: The way I measure success at work is by the following criteria… ”

Question: When you think of what God says in the Bible on the subject of success, what would be your view of what it teaches?

As you read Joshua 1:8, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." - Joshua 1:8 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Joshua1:8&version=NIV

Question: what would success and prosperity look like in this context?
Knowing God & doing what's in His word

Soli Deo Gloria (SDG)
"As a redeemed passion, ambition gives force to a life direction of seeking God’s purposes in family, workplace, church and community. Ambitious people take initiative and are future oriented and consistently motivated: Ambition gives color to our dreams and places before us an appetite for the possibilities of life. Ambition gives us strength of character to turn aspirations into reality through muscle and sweat, mind and imagination. Ambition can be redeemed through the conversion of our passions to line up with God’s pathos, what God cares about. A truly Christian conversion is concerned not only with true and right action but also with true and right affections. Self-control, contentment, faithfulness, neighbor love and praise all contribute to the redemption of ambition, for they liberate ambition from paralyzing selfcenteredness.
For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.
For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. - 1 Corinthians 3:9,11 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Corinthians3:9,11&version=NIV
His work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. — 1 Corinthians 3:13
The Great Commandment is a term used to describe the first of two commandments cited by Jesus in  Matthew 22:35–40,  Mark 12:28–34 and Luke 10:27
The great commandment and the other commandment that is spoken just under it in Matthew 22:39 and Mark 12:31 are in response to an unnamed Pharisee, who was described as a scribe, or lawyer. This scribe/lawyer was testing Jesus, trying to trick Jesus into saying something disreputable, or scandalous according to their religion. Jesus responded by saying the greatest commandment was "And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength. This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." (Mark 12:30-31)
In Matthew 22:40, Jesus explains the reason behind these being the greatest commandments; one, or both are the root of all the other commandments that are given to his followers.
But godliness with contentment is great gain. - 1 Timothy 6:6 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy6:6&version=NIV
The love of money is the root of all evil...
1 Timothy 6:11-21.
"But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the sight of God, who gives life to everything, and of Christ Jesus, who while testifying before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep this command without spot or blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, which God will bring about in his own time —God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.
Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have departed from the faith. Grace be with you all." - 1 Timothy 6:11-21 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1Timothy6:11-21&version=NIV
